TPID Provinsi Sumatera Utarabertugas untuk:a. Melakukan pemantauan dan inventarisasi terhadap pelaksanaankebijakan yang ditempuh dalam rangka pengendalian inflasib. Mengevaluasi sumber-sumber dan potensi tekanan inflasi sertadampaknya terhadap pencapaian sasaran inflasic. Merekomendasikan pilihan kebijakan yang mendukung pencapaiansasaran inflasi kepada Gubernur Sumatera Utarad. Melakukan sosialisasi mengenai sasaran dan upaya pencapaiansasaran inflasi kepada masyarakate. Melakukan tugas-tugas lain sehubungan dengan pengendalianinflasif. Menyampaikan laporan hasil pemantauan dan pengendalianinflasi daerah kepada Gubernur Sumatera UtaraMenyampaikan laporan tahunan hasil evaluasi pelaksanaan tugasTPID kepada Gubernur Sumatera UtaraDalam pelaksanaan tugas pengendalian inflasi, TPID ProvinsiSumatera Utara bertanggung jawab kepada Gubernur Sumatera Utaraselaku pengarah TPID Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Susunan keanggotaanTPID Provinsi Sumatera Utara secara umum terbagi menjadi dua,yaitu, Tim Ahli dan Tim Kerja. Tim Ahli TPID Provinsi SumateraUtara diketuai oleh Kepala Perwakilan Kantor Bank Indonesia WilayahIX (Sumatera Utara & Aceh).
